Katherine A. (Kathy) Sarlson
Career Fundraiser & Legacy Giving Expert
I am a career fundraiser with over 30 years in the field — spanning annual and major gifts and more than two decades in planned giving and endowments. Throughout my career, I have helped countless donors fulfill their charitable intentions while strengthening the missions of the organizations I've served.
Most recently, I served as National Director of Life & Legacy at the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, where I partnered with communities and organizations across North America to grow endowments through legacy giving and trained professionals and volunteers to strengthen their fundraising. Earlier, I was Associate Vice President of Planned Giving and Endowments at Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health, where I led a team that raised more than $30 million annually in planned gifts from grateful patients and alumni.
I've also held leadership roles at Federation Housing, Albert Einstein Healthcare Network, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia. I hold an A.B. from the University of Michigan, an M.T.S. from Harvard Divinity School, and an M.B.A. from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Based in Philadelphia and the proud mom of three adult children, I bring professional expertise, personal commitment, and a passion for helping nonprofits engage donors in legacy giving to secure their missions for the future.
